Day 362

I Don't Know What AGI Achievement Everyone Is Shouting About

Four nested containers beneath an AGI question, surrounded by repeated lines and unnecessary buttons.

I don't know what AGI achievement everyone is shouting about...

If AGI is when a model inherits the primitive shortcomings of its parent, when texts are full of contrasts and the same speech patterns, when all the design again follows the principle of a container inside a container, inside a container, inside a container... and the main thing is to stuff in more buttons and pointless slogans. When an orchestrator spends 2 hours doing a simple task that took the previous model 15 minutes. And the quality of the previous result was good. When the promised 1M context turns out to be 800K, and then it turns out that it has not changed at all, they simply taught the model to dig through chat memory...When the model says, "You are completely right" when you point out ordinary stupid mistakes and ignored instructions.

In my understanding, AGI is when AI can perform tasks better than a person, and do so comprehensively. But when you have to intervene at every stage, control it, check primitive visuals, and reduce the project's growth through rubbish, this is not AGI.

Well, I don't know. The move from GPT 4 and o3 to GPT 5 was a real jump. Honestly, I expected the same jump from 5 to 6. But sadly, so far this looks more like 5.7 than 6, and certainly not AGI.

The fact that Astra scores tons of points in tests and can crack websites like nuts does not prove its real usefulness for a user who has to correct primitive mistakes after it and keep fighting with skills and sets of wrappers just to somehow make it avoid typical mistakes in the future.

I have been arguing with it all morning (sometimes swearing), I started a large project upgrade specifically for Astra, and so far the satisfaction is not great. Maybe I will cool down and write more about the advantages later.
